The UConn Huskies and Iowa Hawkeyes meet Friday in the women’s college basketball Final Four at the Rocket Mortgage FieldHouse. The winner of this game will play the winner of NC State and South Carolina in the Championship. We will look at this from a betting perspective and determine the best bets for this game. Here’s a UConn vs Iowa prediction.

UConn Huskies Betting Preview

The UConn Huskies are coming off wins over Jackson State, Syracuse, Duke and USC. The UConn Huskies are averaging 79.9 points on 49.7 percent shooting and allowing 56.8 points on 35.4 percent shooting. Paige Bueckers is averaging 22 points and 5.2 rebounds, while Aaliyah Edwards is averaging 17.6 points and 2 assists. Ashlynn Shade is the third double-digit scorer and KK Arnold is grabbing 3.1 rebounds. The UConn Huskies are shooting 36.4 percent from beyond the arc and 74.4 percent from the free throw line. The UConn Huskies are allowing 28.2 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 38.7 rebounds per game.

Iowa Hawkeyes Betting Preview

The Iowa Hawkeyes are coming off wins over Holy Cross, West Virginia, Colorado and LSU. The Iowa Hawkeyes are averaging 91.9 points on 49.9 percent shooting and allowing 71.5 points on 39.6 percent shooting. Caitlin Clark is averaging 32 points and 7.3 rebounds, while Hannah Stuelke is averaging 13.8 points and 6.8 rebounds. Kate Martin is the third double-digit scorer and Sydney Affolter is dishing 2.3 assists. The Iowa Hawkeyes are shooting 37.8 percent from beyond the arc and 78 percent from the free throw line. The Iowa Hawkeyes are allowing 30.5 percent shooting from deep and are grabbing 41.8 rebounds per game.

UConn vs Iowa prediction

Iowa is going to get the edge from oddsmakers as they’ve been the more consistent team, they’re deeper, and they just beat the defending champs in LSU. UConn is banged up and playing a very limited roster. Against USC, three of UConn’s five starters played every second of the game. UConn should be the underdog. With that said, UConn has had days off to rest and Geno Auriemma has had time to game plan on how he’s going to defend Clark and the Hawkeyes. As I said in my previous UConn write up, I like the Huskies because of the experience that Auriemma and his coaching staff have. As we get into the business end of the tournament, having a coach who has been there, done that a million times matters. Also, while Clark gets all of the attention, Bueckers is just as good. This has a chance to be one of the best games of the tournament. Give me UConn and the free bucket.

Randy Chambers's Pick: UConn +2.5
